Only Child Syndrome
ME ME ME ME ME. Okay so all I’m trying to do is make a freakin’ difference in this world. But doing so, is only in my only child kind of world. As stated in other previous sections of this blog, I want to go to Honduras to thank people where I stayed when I was a nina- and do a short term service project. But now I feel as if I lack the talents, [...]

Como esta usted?
Muy bien. Y tu? I remember it as if it were yesterday. Junior year. Spanish 301. Taught by a professor who was genetically linked to be the offspring of Hernan Cortes. I had a 3.8 GPA in all of my classes. I was aspiring to go to law school and save the world (think Angie Harmon Law and Order). Spanish 301, nearly ended it all. Working in my typical OCD style, I had to get a [...]

Amazing grace
I once was LOST… but now I am found I imperatively explained to my husband over dinner that my life seems like something out of the television series LOST. Good Websites
Here are some of my favorite websites that give you a better understanding of Honduras. An exceptional IRS recognized 501(c)(3) organization, Central American Medical Outreach (CAMO) is a humanitarian aid organization addressing over 143,000 medical and social needs of the Honduran people. Sophia is a domestic violence survivor. She beat the odds by receiving help through CAMO. See up close and personal the raw reality for a Honduran woman. See Sophia’s success. Want to do a [...]

Here is the story
Thanksgiving. That describes every day of my life. Even the not so good ones. I was born in Honduras. I would later be abandoned, hospitalized with a life-threatening illness, and then, fortunately adopted by two perfect parents in the USA. Picture it. 1987 (or so). A young beautiful peasant girl with clear olive skin … Only you guessed it, this isn’t Sophia’s Sicily, but Honduras … Santa Rosa de Copan to be exact. A little [...]

A dedication to my mamma
Dear Mamma … So maybe I never got suspended from school- or broke rules- or spent time in prison … but I love my mamma tremendously … and somehow, in a weird twisted way think of her when I hear this Tupac song. She is always there for me (note- she was never a crack addict, nor did she have multiple baby daddies). But on a for real note, here is why I love my [...]
